A lovely sight to behold! Planted en masse, the azure-blue, 3/4 inch flowers look like a sea of blue floating above the finely textured foliage. Although each flower lasts only one day, they are produced in such abundance that plants flower for 12 weeks beginning in late spring, and even longer when planted in northern climates and partial shade.
'Nanum Sapphire' differs from the species in its compact form and wiry flower stems. Flax is also a prolific reseeder, so be prepared to share some of these plants with friends and neighbors.
